Caltrans To Begin Safety Testing on James E. Roberts Memorial Bridge In Tuolumne County

Tuolumne County – Caltrans is preparing to begin structural integrity testing of the James E. Roberts Memorial Bridge, north of Don Pedro Reservoir, on State Route 120. The testing is required by the Federal Highway Administration.

Testing is scheduled to begin the week of February 26, 2024, with completion expected by the end of March.

During testing, one-way traffic control is proposed from a half-mile east of the bridge to a half-mile west of the bridge. Traffic control is scheduled to take place Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays.

Caltrans will use changeable message signs to alert motorists as they approach the work zone.

Testing will be performed by Myers and Sons Construction, LLC of Sacramento, CA.
