Northbound SR-15 Connector Ramps to I-8 Closed Sunday Night
SAN DIEGO——Construction crews will close the northbound State Route 15 (SR-15) connector ramps to eastbound and westbound Interstate 8 (I-8) at 7 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, according to Caltrans. The closure is needed for construction on the SR-15 Commuter Bikeway Project. http://www.dot.ca.gov/d11/projects/15commuterBikeway.pdf
Motorists on northbound SR-15 will be detoured to the westbound Friars Road off-ramp and then merge onto the I-8 on-ramp.
The following closures will also be in place overnight Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., on SR-15 between Adams Avenue and I-8:
- Northbound on-ramp to Adams Avenue
- Northbound off-ramp to Camino Del Rio South
- One northbound lane on SR-15.
In addition, there will be an eastbound lane closure on Camino Del Rio South during the day Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The closure will affect the outer eastbound lane between the southbound on-ramp and northbound off-ramp, under the I-15 bridge
Travelers are urged to allow extra time to reach their destination or consider using alternate routes. The closures may affect San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) trolley routes. Please visit sdmts.com for detour information.
During construction, nearby residents can expect intermittent lights and noise during the evening and into the early morning. Crews will work to minimize impacts to nearby businesses, residents, and commuters. Construction schedules are subject to change.
