WHO:Caltrans (California Department of Transportation), CHP (California Highway Patrol) in conjunction with GSA (U.S. General Services Administration)

WHAT: The installation of new roadway enhancements as part of the San Ysidro Port of Entry Modernization and Expansion project, designed to guide southbound motorists and avoid unintentional crossings into Mexico.

WHEN: Tuesday June 11, 2019 at 4am

WHERE: 805 south, exit San Ysidro Blvd. Turn right onto San Ysidro Blvd, and then left at Via de San Ysidro. CHP officer will be positioned on the right-hand side to allow media into closure.

PHOTO/VIDEO OPPORTUNITY:
Caltrans and CHP will escort media into the freeway workzone, allowing a first look at the enhancements from a ground level view. Expect to see crews installing “Mexico” and “Last U.S. Exit” pavement shields, LED roadside signs, and striping operations.

**Three nights of full freeway closures will result in the opening of the last four additional lanes on the newly constructed southbound Interstate 5.**

**Attendees required to wear appropriate safety garments & footwear.**
