Intermittent one-way traffic control: Monday, Feb. 12 to Friday, Feb. 16

MARIN COUNTY — Caltrans is scheduled to continue work on sinkhole and culvert repair on State Route 131 (Tiburon Boulevard) and Stewart Drive in Tiburon from Monday, Feb. 12 to Friday, Feb. 16 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

Intermittent one-way traffic control with flaggers may be needed between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for workers to safely finish the work. A traffic shift where both directions of SR-131 are still open will be utilized as well.

Some work the week of Feb. 5 had to be rescheduled due to weather.

A large sinkhole was discovered in the area on Jan. 25. The sinkhole was stabilized to protect the road, k-rail was installed, and the crosswalk was closed. The sinkhole was a result of storm damage.

The estimate to finish the work is about 2 ½ weeks, weather permitting.

Residents should expect delays and some noise in the area. There is no night work scheduled.

Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Please drive with caution. Slow for the Cone Zone and Be Work Zone Alert. Caltrans thanks motorists for their patience while we work to maintain our state's highways, bridges, and tunnels.
