Eighth Street Fully Closed Between Central Avenue (SR-61) and Taylor Street in City of Alameda For Signal Pole Replacement May 9, 2023

ALAMEDA / ALAMEDA COUNTY – Eighth Street will be fully closed in the City of Alameda between Central Avenue (SR-61) and Taylor Avenue to replace a downed signal pole on May 9, 2023.

The street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9. The purpose of the closure is to accommodate the crews with the City of Alameda that will be replacing a signal pole in the northeast corner of the intersection of Central Avenue (SR-61) and Eighth Street. 

Detours

Southbound traffic:

Southbound traffic traveling on Eighth Street will be diverted at Santa Clara Avenue and detoured west to Webster Street, south towards Central Avenue (SR-61) and east toward Eighth Street.

Northbound traffic:

Northbound traffic traveling on Eighth Street will be diverted at Central Avenue (SR-61) and either detoured west to Webster Street and north towards Santa Clara Avenue, or east to Ninth Street and north towards Santa Clara Avenue.
