Workdays: Wednesday, Jan. 25, Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28
MARIN COUNTY — Caltrans is starting a pothole repair/repaving project in January along northbound and southbound State Route 1 (SR-1) (Shoreline Highway) in various locations across Marin County on Wednesday, Jan. 25, Friday, Jan. 27, and Saturday, Jan. 28.
The project is needed after Bay Area storms affected the roadways along SR-1 in Marin County.
Caltrans will be conducting a moving lane closure with one-way traffic control on Wednesday, January 25 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. just north of the unincorporated town of Marshall on SR-1 southbound. Caltrans also will be working on pothole repair on SR-1 in the Point Reyes area.
Caltrans will repave SR-1 southbound in the Muir Beach area at 8 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 27. The crew will continue moving south on SR-1 until 5 p.m. There will be a moving lane closure and one-way traffic control in the area.
Pothole repair will continue at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28 in Mill Valley on SR-1 with one-way traffic control. Crews will continue work from 5 p.m. until 2 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, Jan. 29 in Mill Valley on SR-1. A lane shift will be used at the intersection of SR-1 and Almonte Boulevard.
More work could occur the week of January 29. Details about future days will be announced by Caltrans.
All work is dependent on weather. Motorists are encouraged to allow extra time and plan their routes ahead of time.
Caltrans understands the one-way traffic control will impact the daily commute for residents who live in Marin County.
Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be on-site during the closures.
