For Tunnel Maintenance (Annual Fire Extinguisher Inspections) Starts Wednesday, December 11 until Friday, December 13, 2019
ALAMEDA/OAKLAND – Caltrans will conduct tunnel maintenance on State Route 61 (Webster and Posey Tubes) in the Cities of Alameda and Oakland, Alameda County. These closures are needed to conduct annual fire extinguisher inspections in both tunnels. The closures will begin
on Wednesday, December 11 until Friday, December 13, at various times, weather permitting.
If it Rains, closures will be rescheduled for a later date.
Closure Information is as follows for each tube:
Webster Tube (leading into Alameda): Full Tube Closure starts Wednesday, December 11 until Thursday, December 12, from 10:00 PM until 12:01 AM.
Posey Tube (leading into Oakland): Full Tube Closure starts Thursday, December 12, from
12:30 AM until 4:30 AM.
Traffic Controls Measures:
Changeable message signs and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Please follow posted detour information. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their commute. Please drive with caution through the construction zone.
