Sebastopol – As part of the continued progress of State Route 116, Caltrans will shift the roadway toward the north between Hessel Road and Bartleson Road in Sebastopol, Sonoma County. The traffic switch is necessary to allow for the placement of concrete safety barriers. The barriers will provide a safe work area for the contractor to install a retaining wall and replace a culvert. The use of the barriers mitigates the need for daytime one-way traffic control, thus leaving both lanes open for the motoring public. Traffic shift will begin overnight Friday, June 28 at 10:00 PM and will be completed Saturday, June 29, by 7:00 AM.
• The speed limit in this construction area has been reduced.
• Additional safety signage has been installed, as well as message boards to warn motorists of the lane shift.
