Rio Vista Bridge Work and System Testing Scheduled

RIO VISTA – Caltrans is alerting motorists to nighttime and daytime delays on the State Route 12 (SR-12) Rio Vista Bridge scheduled for next week.

Beginning 6 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023 through 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024. The bridge remains safe for travel. Motorists should expect delays up to 20 minutes. Work crews will avoid peek commute times in the morning and afternoons. For safety to motorists and the field workers the bridge is scheduled for testing.

In addition, Caltrans is notifying recreational boaters and commercial vessels all vessels will be required to provide 4-hour advanced notification to the draw bridge tender seven days a week, 24 hours a day prior to requiring a draw span opening. The U.S.C.G. will announce the temporary deviation in the Local Notice to Mariners and/or Broadcast Notice to Mariners. The U.S. Coast Guard will announce the temporary deviation in the Local Notice to Mariners and/or Broadcast Notice to Mariners., the lift span of the bridge will open on signal if at least four hours notice is given to the draw tender.
