FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Yolo County  – Caltrans has scheduled preliminary shoulder work on eastbound and westbound Interstate 80 (I-80) and U.S. Highway 50 (US 50) on Sunday night for the Yolo I-80 Pavement Rehabilitation Project.

Motorists can expect shoulder work with minimal delays. The work is part of a project to expand and rehabilitate the roadway surface on I-80 and US-50 in Yolo County.

Crews will be working in and near West Sacramento, from 1.4 miles east of Mace Boulevard to the Sacramento River Bridge; from I-80 to the Jefferson Boulevard Overcrossing (postmile 0.0/2.5).

The $280 million project includes $47 million from Senate Bill (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.

Crews are scheduled to work in the construction zone day and night, and the speed limit has been reduced for the safety of workers and motorists. The speed limit will be enforced 24/7. Caltrans advises motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” – someone’s loved one is at work.

The schedule is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/ or materials, and construction related issues.
