Placer County – Caltrans is alerting motorists of a schedule change starting next week for traffic-interfering work on State Highway 28 for a utility project.

Southwest Gas and its contractor, Q&D Construction, are working on a gas line replacement project on Highway 28 between Tahoe City and Kings Beach.

One-way traffic control will be in effect between Sierra Terrace Road and Jackpine Street in Tahoe City from Sunday, July 9 at 7 p.m. until Friday, July 14 at 8 a.m. No work is scheduled on the weekend.

In addition, one-way traffic control will be in effect between Pino Grande Avenue and Agatam Avenue West in Tahoe Vista from Monday, July 10 through Thursday, July 13 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. No work is scheduled on the weekend.

Motorists should expect delays of up to 30 minutes or longer during one-way traffic control. Around-the-clock work should be expected at various locations this season from 7 p.m. Sunday until 8 a.m. Friday to expedite completion of this project. Work will be suspended on weekends and the Labor Day holiday.
