FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SUTTER COUNTY — Motorists should be prepared for around-the-clock traffic delays on State Highway 20 west of Yuba City because of major construction activity.

Crews are scheduled to conduct one-way traffic control between Acacia Road and Humphrey Road from 9 p.m. Friday, August 28 through 6 a.m. Friday, September 4. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes to avoid congestion in the area.

The lane restrictions will allow crews to realign the roadway to connect to a newly constructed bridge spanning the Wadsworth Canal.

The work is part of a $37.7 million project funded in part by Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, to restore nearly 12 lane miles of pavement between Lytle Road and the Sutter Bypass, widen the shoulders and replace the Wadsworth Canal Bridge.

Weather or unexpected events may delay or prolong the work. Caltrans advises motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert.” The department will issue construction updates on Twitter @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3.
