MARYSVILLE – Community members will have an additional three weeks to provide feedback about the proposed State Highway 70 Continuous Passing Lanes Project in Yuba County.
The deadline for the public to submit comments about the project’s draft Environmental Impact Report has been extended to Friday, June 5, 2020. All feedback can be sent via postal mail to Caltrans, Environmental Management M3 Branch, 703 B Street, Marysville, CA 95901, Attn: Yuba 70 Passing Lanes Project or email here. In addition, community members may call in their comments by dialing (530) 741-5532.
The environmental document is available on the web at the Environmental Documents Page, at the Yuba County Government Center, 915 8th Street, Marysville, the Yuba County Library, 303 2nd Street, Marysville, and the Caltrans District 3 Office, 703 B Street, Marysville.
Caltrans has also produced a series of short videos outlining the overall project, the environmental process, the right of way process and proposed designs along a nine-mile stretch of roadway from Laurellen Road to the Yuba-Butte County line. The videos are available on the District 3 YouTube Channel.
The $36 million project calls for improving highway safety and efficiency to ensure the reliable movement of goods and provide better connectivity between Yuba County and the Sacramento Valley to support the overall economic viability of the region.
Specifically, Caltrans proposes to supplement the Yuba State Highway 70 Safety project by adding continuous passing lanes to achieve a four-lane highway with 8-foot-shoulders and a continuous two-way left turn lane from Laurellen Road to South Honcut Creek Bridge at the Yuba-Butte County line.
