SAN DIEGO — Beginning Tuesday evening, Caltrans crews will close all eastbound Interstate 8 (I-8) lanes at Tavern Road weeknights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. for culvert repairs and pavement work. The weeknight closures are expected to continue until the end of January.
All motorists will be detoured to the eastbound I-8 Tavern Road off-ramp, then reenter the freeway using the eastbound I-8 Tavern Road on-ramp.
Motorists are reminded to be Work Zone Alert if traveling in the area and to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment.
The work schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other work-related reasons.
