SAN DIEGO — Caltrans has a full freeway, and several ramps closures this weekend on State Route 163 (SR-163) and Interstate 8 (I-8).
On Saturday from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., all lanes of southbound SR-163 from I-8 to Interstate 5 (I-5) will close to trim trees, remove overgrown brush, and repair damaged pavement.
Motorists will be detoured to westbound I-8 to the southbound I-5 connector ramp, continue on I-5 to the northbound SR-163 ramp.
Beginning Saturday at 4 a.m. and continuing through to Monday at 3:30 a.m., the eastbound I-8 connector ramp to southbound SR-163 will close. This closure also includes the Hotel Circle South on-ramp to eastbound I-8 and the southbound SR-163 off-ramp to 6th Avenue/University Avenue.
Eastbound I-8 motorists will be detoured to the southbound Interstate 805 (I-805) connector ramp, continue on I-805 to the southbound State Route 15 (SR-15) connector ramp to eastbound State Route 94 (SR-94). Continue on SR-94 to northbound I-5 and follow the signs to the northbound SR-163 connector ramp.
The work schedule is subject to change due to weather, traffic incidents, or other maintenance considerations.
