SAN DIEGO —Caltrans construction crews will remove lane channelizers, also known as flexible delineators, along State Route 67 (SR-67) from Willow Road in Lakeside to Scripps Poway Parkway, Sunday night, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Drivers should anticipate one-way lane restrictions at times during work.

The removal is in preparation for the SR-67 road repair and rehabilitation project, set to begin the week of April 24. Eighteen miles of SR-67 will be resurfaced as part of the work, from just north of the San Diego River Bridge in Lakeside to State Route 78 (SR-78) in Ramona. The channelizers will be out for up to two months as crews resurface the road. As part of the work, brand-new channelizers will be installed once the resurfacing is complete.

Crews have already performed other improvements since the work began last year, including modifying existing traffic signal systems, improved pavement markings, and enhanced ADA curb ramp upgrades, as well as adding new and improved guardrails at 36 locations along SR-67. In addition, there is also broadband work being performed as part of the Governor’s “Broadband for All” initiative.

Motorists are reminded to be Work Zone Alert if traveling in the area and to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment.

The construction schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other construction-related reasons.
