SAN DIEGO — Construction crews have closed one lane on the westbound Interstate 8 (I-8) on-ramp from Fairmount Avenue to replace culverts and construct new drain inlets. The new culverts and drain inlets will help reduce flooding in this area.
The project began in late 2022 and will extend through the end of the month due to the recent heavy rains and flooding.
Motorists are reminded to be Work Zone Alert if traveling in the area and to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment.
The construction schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other construction-related reasons.
