SAN DIEGO — Caltrans crews will close the northbound and southbound State Route 163 (SR-163) connector to the northbound I-5 Tuesday, November 1, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for slope work. This work is related to a water main break that occurred last year.
Detours are as follows:
- Southbound SR-163 connector to northbound I-5: take southbound I-5 to the Imperial Avenue exit, turn left onto Imperial Avenue, and left at 19th Street to northbound I-5
- Northbound SR-163 connector to northbound I-5: continue northbound on SR-163 to westbound Interstate 8 to northbound I-5
Travelers are reminded to watch for highway workers and moving equipment and to Be Work Zone Alert.
The construction schedule is subject to change due to weather, traffic incidents, or other construction considerations.
