Last U.S. Exit, I-805 Connectors to Eastbound SR-905 to Close Starting Sunday, 8/14

SAN DIEGO — Caltrans crews will close ramps and freeway connectors along State Route 905 including Siempre Viva Rd./Last U.S. Exit and Britannia Blvd., beginning on Sunday, August 14.

The southbound I-805 connector to the westbound SR-905 will be closed from Sunday, August 14 to Tuesday, August 16, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Detour by going south on I-805 to eastbound SR-905. Exit the Caliente Avenue off-ramp and turn left, then left again to the westbound SR-905 on-ramp.

The eastbound SR-905 Britannia Blvd off-ramp will close Sunday, August 14, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., and again on Wednesday, August 17, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Travelers headed to the Cross Border Express (CBX) should continue East and exit La Media Rd. off-ramp, turn left onto La Media Rd., then turn left again at Otay Mesa Rd. towards Britannia Blvd.

The eastbound SR-905 Siempre Viva Road off-ramp/ Last U.S. Exit will close Monday, August 15, and again Wednesday, August 17, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Those who do not wish to cross the Otay Mesa Port of Entry into Mexico should keep right and take the eastbound SR-11 connector, exit Enrico Fermi Dr. off-ramp, then turn right on to Enrico Fermi Dr.

**A U-Turn to USA will be available via the left lane on SR-905 before the Port of Entry for motorists who miss the detour signage.

The project includes asphalt and pavement micro-surfacing, new thermoplastic striping, and upgraded wrong-way driver striping enhancements, at all ramps along SR-905 from San Ysidro to Otay Mesa, and will continue thru late September according to Caltrans.

Traffic delays may occur, and travelers are advised to plan ahead and allow additional time to reach their destinations. Motorists are asked to Be Work Zone Alert and watch for workers while driving in the area.
