12-Hour One-Way Traffic Control And Intermittent Full Highway Closures At Old River Bridge For Testing – March 7-8, 2024
San Joaquin County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on State Route 4 (SR-4) for testing operations of the Old River Bridge, located at the San Joaquin/Contra Costa County line, just east of Discovery Bay. Work will occur as follows;
- One-way traffic control beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, until 8:00 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024.
- Three (3), 20-minute full closures will be required as the bridge is opened/closed between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024
- No detour is required, although motorists driving SR-4 at this time should be aware of up to 20-minute delays.
- Caltrans will have roadside message boards on eastbound and westbound SR-4 to alert motorists approaching the Old River Bridge.
All work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.
