Ramp Closures Scheduled for Next Week

MERCED COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct the following ramp closures next week on State Route-99 (SR-99) for the Merced 99 Pavement Rehabilitation construction project.  Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

 

STATE ROUTE 99

Motorists are urged to use extra caution and slow down to a maximum speed of 45 MPH in construction zones where barricaded and split lanes are in place.

  • Alternating lane closure on southbound SR-99 from Franklin Slough to Colony Slough for construction beginning Sunday, March 3, through Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • Alternating lane closure on northbound SR-99 from Colony Sloughy to Franklin Slough for construction beginning Sunday, March 3, through Friday, March 8, 2024, from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Full on and off-ramp closures on southbound SR-99 at Childs Avenue Over-Crossing for construction beginning Sunday, March 3, through Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • Full on and off-ramp closures on northbound SR-99 at Childs Avenue Over-Crossing for construction beginning Sunday, March 3, through Friday, March 8, 2024, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Full on and off-ramp closures on southbound SR-99 at SR-140/East Separation for construction beginning Sunday, March 3, through Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

  • Full off-ramp closure on northbound SR-99 at G Street Under-Crossing for construction beginning Sunday, March 3, through Friday, March 8, 2024, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Full on and off-ramp closures on southbound SR-99 at SR-59/Martin Luther King Jr. Way for construction beginning Sunday, March 3, through Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • Full on-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at SR-59/Martin Luther King Jr. Way for spraying operations on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

  • Full off-ramp closure on northbound SR-99 at 16th Street for construction beginning Sunday, March 3, through Friday, March 8, 2024, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. 
  • Full on and off-ramp closures on southbound SR-99 at 16th Street Under-Crossing for construction beginning Sunday, March 3, through Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • Full on ramp closure on northbound SR-99 at 16th Street Under-Crossing for construction beginning Sunday, March 3, through Friday, March 8, 2024, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

 

Motorists should expect 5-10 minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible.  This work is scheduled to take place as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.
