Caltrans To Begin Roadside Safety Improvement Project At Several Locations On State Route 99 In City Of Lodi

Published:

Stockton – Caltrans is preparing to begin a project to construct roadside safety improvements at 15 locations on State Route 99 (SR-99) from Harney Lane to Turner Road in the city of Lodi.

Work will vary per location and will include the construction of Maintenance Vehicle Pullouts (MVP), perform gore and slope paving, and install guard rail and vegetation control. These improvements are needed to improve worker safety by providing a safer environment for maintenance personnel and to reduce the frequency and duration of maintenance activities on the highway.

This project is scheduled to begin the week of January 8-12, 2024, with completion expected in May 2024.

Work is to be performed during day and night-time hours, with night work requiring seven-hour lane and on- and off-ramp closures.  Caltrans will have overhead changeable message signs and/or roadside signage alerting motorists the lane closures and any required detour routes.

This $6.59 million safety improvement project is scheduled for 65 working days and will be performed by Pacific Infrastructure Construction, LLC (Vacaville, CA).

Future traffic advisories and social media posts will provide scheduled lane closure locations, dates and details.

Schedules are subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
