Caltrans Begins Bridge Maintenance Projects At Several Locations In San Joaquin County

Stockton – Caltrans recently began several bridge preventative maintenance projects that will make necessary repairs at eight different locations within San Joaquin County.

Work will vary per location and will include the repair of existing bridge deck concrete, installation of polyester concrete overlays, and the replacement of various joint seals and bridge deck approach and departure slabs.   

These projects began this week (July 31-August 5, 2023,) with completion expected in January 2024.

Project locations include structures at:

  • Interstate 5 at Walker Slough (north of Downing Avenue in Stockton)
  • Interstate 5 at Paradise Cut (just north of I-205 near Lathrop), and; 

The majority of work is to be performed during night-time hours and will require nine-hour lane closures.  Caltrans will have flaggers and/or changeable message signs alerting motorists of the lane closures.

Work at all locations will be performed by Myers & Sons Construction, LLC, (Sacramento, CA). 

 

Future traffic advisories and social media posts will provide scheduled lane closure locations, dates and details. 

 

Schedules are subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
