Capital Projects South Branch

Administers planning, programming and development of Intercity Rail Capital Projects (project proposals, applications and project study reports)
Assists local agencies in implementation of capital projects
Administers capital project contracts
Develops plans for funding individual projects through STIP, and in coordination with other (freight railroads, Amtrak, commuter railroads, and local and regional entities
Coordinates with Amtrak, commuter railroads, and local and regional agencies on capital project development and implementation in the six counties that comprise the Pacific Surfliner Route: San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo.
Plans and negotiates contracts with Amtrak  for Train and Bus services (; review and pay invoices

Capital Projects North Branch

Coordinates with Amtrak, commuter railroads, and local and regional agencies on capital project development and implementation on the routes of Amtrak California's San Joaquin and Capitol Corridor.
Plans and negotiates contracts with Amtrak and CCJPA for Train and Bus services (including Marketing and Administration for CCJPA); review and pay invoices

Marketing Branch

Provides marketing and public relation services for intercity rail and connecting buses to increase ridership
Conducts market research programs, including ridership and revenue modeling and passenger surveys
Conducts rail safety information programs including Operation Lifesaver
Plans and implements improved passenger information services, including station and onboard signage and announcements, printed materials and the Amtrak California web site.
