Caltrans to Drivers: Preparation is Key for Winter Driving Conditions
Caltrans News Flash #106
MARYSVILLE – While the snowcapped mountains of California can be beautiful, winter driving on roads and highways can be frustrating, tiring and sometimes even hazardous. Caltrans is encouraging motorists traveling to or through the mountains this winter to be prepared for winter driving conditions. In this News Flash, Caltrans offers tips to help drivers keep safe.
Snow storms on the passes can frequently result in chain controls. Caltrans trains and permits chain installers to offer their services in the Caltrans-designated chain installation/removal areas. This video will show how to identify these permitted chain installers by the three digit number on their bibs and on large reflective signs near their location.
