OAKLAND - In this Caltrans News Flash, you’ll get an advance peek at how Caltrans will remove the first of 19 trusses on the old east span of the Bay Bridge. The work is scheduled for Feb. 4, is expected to take at least one full day and will take place over several hours as the 504’ truss is lowered onto a barge that will haul it away.
This is the first removal of the 19 still-standing trusses on the old east span, which will take place over several months.
