THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MOBILITY PLAN (SCMP)
The Southern California Mobility Plan (SCMP) has been prepared jointly by the four districts of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in the southern portion of the state representing the following seven counties: Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ventura, and Imperial. The SCMP ties the mega-region together and supplements a new system planning process. The SCMP is a management tool for use by Caltrans and its partners to improve inter-district and inter-county mobility, and to assist in facilitating economic growth, enhancing the environment, and ensuring social equity for the people of California. It addresses mobility at an interregional level, with a primary focus on seamless travel across district boundaries and it provides a means to enhance communication, coordination, and cooperation between Caltrans and its transportation partners. |
