Completed Route 113 Interchange

New Interchange Completed at State Route 99/State Route 113 in Sutter County

SUTTER COUNTY – Caltrans has completed a much-needed interchange at the junction of State Routes 99 and 113 south of Yuba City, another major step in improving the transportation corridor between Yuba City and Sacramento.

"The new interchange will reduce congestion and enhance safety for thousands of commuters, local residents and the agricultural industry who rely on these two highways," said Caltrans Director Malcolm Dougherty.

The new interchange also replaced stoplights that were installed as part of the SR-99 Tudor Bypass in 2010.

The bulk of the $19.4 million funding for the SR-99/ SR-113 project -- $17.8 million -- comes from Proposition 1B, the 2006 voter-approved transportation bond. Since its passage, more than $17 billion in Proposition 1B funds have been put to work statewide for transportation purposes.
Caltrans, Sutter County and the Sacramento Area Council of Governments were partners in the project.

The new interchange is one of three major projects coming on board in 2014 along the 34-mile SR-99 corridor between Yuba City and Sacramento. In mid-June, a new two-lane 3,148-foot bridge was completed over the Feather River and SR-99 was widened from two to four lanes along a three-mile stretch near the community of Nicolaus. Later this year, Caltrans will open a second new interchange on SR-99 at Riego Road in southern Sutter County.
