SECOND AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT PROJECT IN DISTRICT 2 COMPLETE
TEHAMA - PLUMAS COUNTY - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 2 announces the completion the second of five American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009 awarded to Caltrans. Approximately 13.6 miles of damaged and deteriorated roadway has been replaced at two locations in Tehama County and one location in Plumas County by these asphalt overlay projects.
“Our focus has been and continues to be ensuring that California gets the maximum benefit from
Federal stimulus funding,” said Caltrans Director Randy Iwasaki. “Projects like these are putting people to work and building better roads for all Californians.”
This $2.3 million project, awarded to Steve Manning construction of Redding, will extend the existing service life, and defer costs associated with major structural restoration for a minimum of 5 years.
