Request Preparation of Maintenance Agreements and Relinquishment Maps

Narrative

Relinquishment limits and maintenance responsibilities need to be reviewed prior to relinquishing constructed facilities.

Initiator

• Project Engineer

Sub-Tasks

• After award of the contract, request the Right of Way Engineering Unit to prepare maps showing limits of relinquishments. The Right of Way Engineering Unit sends the plans to the Project Engineer and the Maintenance Unit.
• Review features such as:

- City limits

- Permanent drainage or slope easements

• Maintenance Unit prepares final Maintenance Agreements, identifying facilities within the State's access control limits that will be maintained by the local entity.
• Right of Way Engineering Unit completes relinquishment maps.

Task Duration

• 10 - 15 days

Send Notification of Contract Approval

Narrative

After the contract is approved, the district is notified.

Initiator

• Office of Office Engineer

Sub-Tasks

• Obtain approval of the contract from Caltrans' Legal Division.
• Send notification of contract approval to the district Construction Unit.

Task Duration

• 10 - 15 days
