TASK D428 (420.A)

Complete Specifications for Qualified Projects

Narrative

For qualified projects, the District Office Engineer prepared the draft contract documents and transmitted the PS&E submittal to the Office of Office Engineer for preparation of final contract documents.

After plans, special provisions, and estimates have been received and the requirements listed in Attachment "A" have been completed, the project is Ready to List for advertising.

Sub-Tasks

• Review PS&E submittal and request revisions, as appropriate.
• Ensure that (1) the proposed work is biddable and buildable (2) the plans, specifications, and estimate are consistent and conform to Caltrans policies and standards, and that (3) the items in Attachment "A" are completed prior to the "Ready to List for advertisement" date.
• Add "boilerplate" specifications.

• 10 - 15 days

TASK D429 (420.A)

Review Draft Contract Documents (Nonqualified Project)

Narrative

For projects that are not qualified, the District Office Engineer compiled the PS&E, circulated the PS&E submittal to district units, and transmitted the submittal to the Office of Office Engineer (OOE) to complete draft contract documents. After completion of the draft contract documents, the district is requested to review them.

After plans, special provisions, and estimate have been reviewed by the district and the requirements in Attachment "A" have been completed, the project is Ready to List for advertising.

• Send documents and comments to the OOE for preparation of final documents.
• OOE adds "boilerplate" specifications.
