Prepare Structure General Plans

Narrative

The Bridge Site Data submittal and the Division of Structures Preliminary Report provide data that is used to prepare the Structure General Plans. Now the Office of Structure Design prepares the Structure General Plans. The plans provide a detailed description of the structure.

• Send the Structure General Plans, with a General Plan estimate, to the district for review.

Review Falsework Requirements

Narrative

After receipt of the Structure General Plans, the district reviews the falsework openings for conformity with standards. The contractor is responsible for structural design of falsework.

• Review falsework requirements for the following:

- Widths and heights of openings

- K-rail

- Need for illumination

- Staging and traffic handling

• Discuss the falsework requirements and local street closures with functional units and local entities.

Prepare Railroad Separation Structure Exhibits for the Public Utilities Commission

Narrative

The Division of Structures (DOS) is responsible for contacts with the Public Utilities Commission (PUC). DOS prepares the necessary exhibits.

• Prepare exhibits.
• Review exhibits with the District Railroad Liaison Agent and Project Engineer.
• Send proposal to PUC for approval.
• Notify district of approval.
