Annual Review of Project Scope, Cost and Schedule |
||
To better manage the department's capital and support programs, it is imperative that the scope, cost and schedule of every programmed project be current, complete and accurate.
As such, effective immediately, project managers shall ensure that each project has a documented review and update of the project's scope, cost and schedule, which is not more than one year old, included in the project's permanent history file. This documentation must be signed and dated by the project manager. The one-year requirement does not preclude the project manager from formally updating the scope, cost and schedule on a more frequent basis, such as at project milestones or if significant changes occur between milestones.
Also, any Project Change Request submitted to the Project Management Program for processing shall have a copy of this current documentation attached to the request.
This requirement will be incorporated into the Project Development Procedures Manual in the near future. If you have any questions, please call Tim Craggs, Chief, Office of Project Development Procedures and Quality Improvement, at 916?653?1027 (CALNET 453?1027).
