DATE: June 29, 2009 INCIDENT TYPE: Standard First Aid (SFA) & CPR Certification Training LOCATION: All Caltrans Locations TYPE OF WORK ACTIVITY: Certification Training ACTION: CPR certification is now required every year. For employees requiring these certifications, please ensure that they are current. Caltrans Safety Manual has been revised to meet more stringent SFA and CPR training standards. CONCLUSIONS: All employees required to maintain SFA/CPR certification as outlined by 9.12 of the Caltrans’ Safety Manual shall maintain certification as recommended by the American Red Cross Standard. SFA is required every three years and CPR is now required every year.
