Information Technology

The Information Technology Organization (IT) is responsible for the information technology functions of Caltrans, including system analysis and design, programming, testing, implementation, and maintenance for major computer systems and databases.

IT assists each division of Caltrans in making effective utilization of personal computers, local area networks, and office automation facilities, including technical support and training. IT conducts research, evaluation, and development of new information technology products and facilities for use at Caltrans.

Infrastructure Division

This division is responsible for server and network management, IT operational support, enterprise messaging, telecommunications support, security, customer liaison and the service desk.

Information Technology Solutions Division

This division is responsible for managing mainframe and data warehouse systems, packaged product solutions, data administration, custom developed solutions, business analysis, web support, enterprise architecture, and strategic/operational plan development.

Office of Project Implementation

This office is responsible for project management, project oversight and policy, quality assurance, IT certification, and project implementation.
