Inquiry #2: On Plan Sheet 19, Q-1, on the irrigation crossover chart, there are six locations shown as having 8" CHDPE conduits. At 5 of these locations it is shown that a 4" waterline and a 4" electrical conduit are to be installed inside the CHDPE and in the sixth location they are to be 3". The sizings for IPS piping are nominal and the actual outside diameters, especially at the couplings are greater than 3 or 4 inches. Two 4" IPS pipes are actually about 9" across and two 3" are about 7" across. Two 4" will not fit in an 8" CHDPE conduit and two 3" will be very tight.
Therefore, Bid Item 12, for 8" CHDPE Irrigation Crossovers should be eliminated and the quantity for Bid Item 13 for 12" CHDPE increased by 490 LF to a total of 828 LF. Alternatively, the waterline and/or electrical conduit sizing show on the Crossover Chart could be reduced to a size that will fit in 8" CHDPE.
Please advise.
