Inquiry #3: Section 10-1.20 lists contract no.s 04-264084 and 04-2640C4 as projects anticipated to be in progress during this project. These projects are not listed in any Caltrans data base that we can locate. Where can the plans/bid items be found so we can gauge the scope of cooperation required?

Inquiry #7: In reference to bid item 58 Relocate Fire Hydrant, I cannot locate this work on any layouts. I do see a detail for this work but the layout would be required to see if the fire hydrant is staying along the same station of the water main and just getting moved back, therefore not requiring a new tap and tee valve. Or if it is being moved upstream or downstream on the watermain which would require capping the old tee, installation of new tapping sleeve, new valves and so forth. Please provide a layout of the fire hydrant relocations.

Inquiry #9: RE Bid items 100-106 MSE Embankments and SP Sxs 10-1.43 (ERS) & 10.73 (franctured rib tetxture): It is requested that the specification be opened up to allow segmental retaining walls (non panel systems) by inclusion of at least the Landmark System with and offset split texture to be used on project. The system is a caltrans pre-approved alternative earth retaining system with a vertical or 4 degree face batter. However, the fractured rib finish must be waived in lieu of the split face texture.

Inquiry #17: Section 10-2.05, page 260, (Bid Item 88) Water Meter states “The City of Petaluma Water Department has established a fee of $20,300 for furnishing & installing a 1” water meter.” Please provide us with the exact scope of work. Will the City make the point of connection & install the meter box, fittings and water meter? Will the contractor be required to provide any support to The City for their work?

Inquiry #19: Page SC-21 shows two temp retaining walls. The temp retaining wall that is ~850’ in length is shown in the same location as Retaining Wall No. 6. Is the intent to have a retaining wall and temp retaining wall at the same location or is the temp retaining wall supposed to be at another location.
