Inquiry #1: The specification under section 10-1.02 staste this will be a Risk Level 1 project. However, the GIS information provided by the SWRCB places this project in an area desginated as a receiving water risk area, which would atomatically make it at least a Risk Level 2. Please confirm Risk Level for this proejct.

Inquiry #2: Standard Plan B2-3 indicates a minimum CIDH penetration into the footing of 3”. Plan Sheet 85/95, Section D-D shows a #8 footing stirrup with the note “3” clr.” Therefore, the stirrups will be sitting directly on the top of CIDH pile with no coverage around the bottom of the stirrup bar. Is this a conflict?

Inquiry #5: Metal Beam Guard Rail Sheet L-1 Type 12C and Sheet L-2 Type 12B. Both runs require a Transition (Type WB) but there is not a pay item for Transition (Type WB) how are these going to get paid?

Response #2:The payment for Transition Railing (Type WB) was mistakenly included in the quantity for Metal Beam Guard Rail. Once construction starts, Caltrans will issue a change order to reduce the quantity of Metal Beam Guard Railing corresponding to the length of Transition Railing (Type WB) and pay for the Transition Railing (Type WB) separately. Contractors should bid as they see fit.

Inquiry #6: Cable Railing - Sheet 2 of 95 (X-1) - See Note 6-For Cable Railing detail see Standard Plan B11-47. On Sheet 7 of 95 (C-3) it shows the Cable Railing Post with 4 holes. Per the project Special Provision Standard Plans List page V it list RSP B11-47 Cable Railing. Which plan do we use?
