Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

We at Caltrans would like to thank you for your interest in our EFT program.

The Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is pleased to announce the implementation of our newest "pilot" Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payment process. This new process has been designed to meet the payment needs of our clients operating within the Traffic Congestion Relief Program (TCRP), Local Assistance, Lease programs and Service Contracts. Through this new process, the State Controller's Office (SCO) receives electronic notification of payments due from Caltrans. SCO will then electronically transfer funds to a vendor's designated bank account. After the funds are transferred, a paper remittance advice will automatically be sent to each vendor detailing the specific account the payment was posted to, as well as the amount of the payment that was issued.

This is yet another example of E-Government in action. Caltrans intends to use electronic payment procedures to the extent that is prudent and practical. It is Caltran's desire to increase work efficiencies and project deliveries that are available through an automated EFT process. Caltrans hopes to expand our EFT payment process to other clients as the success of the program is proven.

The following links provide detailed information on our various EFT programs.
