Inactive Project Information
Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Regulation 23 CFR Part 630 requires State Department of Transportation (DOT) to review inactive projects with unexpended Federal obligations on a quarterly basis. Inactive projects are federal aid projects for which no expenditures have been charged against Federal funds for the past 12 months. The objective of this regulation is to provide greater assurance that the amounts of Federal funds obligated on a project reflect the current cost estimate, and to assure that funds no longer needed are deobligated in a timely manner.
