I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, the youngest of six children. I graduated from Chico State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. I've worked in Washington and California and am registered as a Civil Engineer in both states. Most of my professional career has been with Caltrans and most of that in Bishop. I also have worked with a private firm in Seattle and briefly with Caltrans offices in San Bernardino and Sacramento. I try to make the most of the area here with hiking, flying, and sailing. My wife, Mary, owns East Side Books and Business Works. We have one daughter, Olivia, born 1997 and one son, Liam, born in 1999.
