Bridgeport - Nevada State Line (MAP 12)
 
Description:  US Highway 395, from just south of Conway grade is a 2-lane facility that widens into a 4-lane graded crossing over the summit and down to SR-270, where it again becomes a 2-lane conventional route. Short passing sections of 4 and 3-lane configurations interrupt the standard 2-lane hwy.  Grades are steep at the southern terminus of this segment and become moderate to the north. Shoulder widths vary throughout the route. Traffic is average.  This portion of the route is picturesque. 
State Route 270, From its junction with US Hwy. 395 and east to Bodie State Historic Park is a 2-lane route with minimal shoulders and features curvilinear alignment and moderate grades.  The last 3 miles into Bodie State Park are unpaved. 
SR-108, from its the junction with US Hwy. 395 to the Sonora Pass toward the west is a 2-lane route with minimal shoulders and very steep grades. Traffic is light.  Exceptionally scenic, this route traverses the High Sierra and peaks at Sonora Pass.  During the winter months route 108 is closed. 
SR-182 identfied as a scenic byway leaves US Hwy. 395 just south of Bridgeport and heads northeast with curvilinear alignment and moderate but flat grades. It parallels a fast running creek along most of its length.  Traffic is very light.
