Description: State Route 58,
from Districts 6 and 9 boundary to the San Bernardino County line is primarly
a 4-lane alternately divided facility. It is classified as an expressway
that functions through the community of Mojave as a 5-lane city street
with traffic control. Traffic is heavy with a high percentage of
trucks (nearly 30%). SR-58 west of Mojave features moderate to steep
grades with canyon and mountain scenery. East of Mojave SR-58 features
gentle grades and desert scenery.
