When completed, the project will feature significant improvements including:

* 4 miles of HOV lanes and widened freeways on I-215, SR60 and SR91
* new soundwalls and retaining walls throughout the project
* major structural improvement at 8 local interchanges
* 2 sweeping ‘flyover’ connector ramps between the I-215/SR60 and the SR91
* improvements to local drainage systems
* new truck bypass connector leading from the southbound I-215 to the eastbound SR60
* new bridges at Linden, Iowa and Blaine providing better access into UC Riverside

This project will require the use of 261,400 tons of asphalt concrete and 176,500 cubic yards or 17,650 truckloads of concrete.

Funding for this $317 million project will come from a combination of federal, state and local sources. This funding partnership demonstrates the level of commitment being made by many public agencies that share the interest and responsibility of improving our transportation system.

Caltrans provides ongoing updates regarding the construction activity for this project. Updates can be found under project press releases; planned ‘Fast Fax’ Lane Closures, media briefings and community meetings. Interested members of the public can also call Caltrans direct at (909) 383-4416 for questions regarding construction activity and planned closures. Caltrans publishes planned lane closures for the project each week. The closures comprise our ‘Fast Fax’ bulletin of freeway lanes and ramps that we expect will be closed over the course of each week.
