Q) Under "Materials"; of the Special Provisions for Temporary Fence (tortoise), is the material for Temporary Fence (tortoise) or is it for the Temporary Fence (ESA)?
A) The material for Temporary Fence (Tortoise) and Temporary Fence (ESA) is as specified per pages 118 through 120 of the contract Special Provisions. Highly visible fabric mesh shall be used for both ESA and tortoise fence.
Q) What material will be used for the wire? And Posts? What are the lengths and heights of both the wire and posts?
A) The material, lengths and heights for posts to be used is as specified per pages 118 through 120 of the contract Special Provisions. Tie-wire may be used as a fastener for attaching the highly visible fabric mesh for the steel post option. Height of the highly visible fabric mesh is shown on the plans. Length of the posts is minimum 1.6 meter. Allowable materials (wood or steel) for posts is defined in SSP 10-1.03 Temporary Fence (Type ESA), page 118 and SSP 10-1.04 Temporary Fence (Tortoise), page 120.
Q) What gage is the wire?
A) Tie-wire shall be 14 gage minimum.
