Q3) Bid item #105, reference "Chain Link Railing (Type 7)", however I can't find anything on the plans showing the detail for item #105 "Chain Link Railing (Type 7)", also I can't find a drawing that shows the section where the "Chain Link Railing (Type 7)" fence will be constructed.
A3) The Chain Link Railing (Type 7) details are shown on Standard Plan B11-52.
Q4) On drawing sheet 155 of 172, the "Notched End" detail states "1600 min notched end" and "1200 min other end" which would indicate that end blocks are required at both ends. In all other details, the only end block appears to be at Bent 2. Are end blocks required at both ends of the I-Girders?
A4) End blocks for notched end girders are required only at Bent 2. End blocks are not required at the abutments, please disregard the "1200 min other end" note.
Q5) There are no Specialty "(S)" bid items specified under the item numbers as normally indicated in Cal-trans projects. Were they forgotten or are they no longer specified?
A5) In the "Notice to Bidders and Special Provisions" under "Amendments to the Standard Specifications" section 5-1.055 "SUBCONTRACTING", subsection 5-1.055A "General", paragraph three:
"Except for a building-construction non-federal-aid contract, perform work equaling at least 30 percent of the value of the original total bid with your employees and with equipment owned or rented by you, with or without operators."
We do not use (S) the speciallty designation anymore due to this change in the Standard Specifications.
Q6) The Pump Plant Plan shown on plan sheet 169 of 172 depicts the new south wall being cast on the inside of the existing storage box (the point where the new 1200 MM pipe enters the storage box)while detail "D" on sheet 170 of 172 shows the new wall cast on the outside of the storage box. Which is correct?Please review and clarify. Please note the demolition plan on sheet 168 of 172 supports the plan view on sheet 169 that shows the wall cast inside the existing storage box.
A6) On Detail D on sheet 170 of 172 the new storage wall is actually on the inside of the existing storage wall to be consistent with all other details in the plan set.
Q7) During the bridge widening work the AC shoulders and median of HWY 99 are going to be removed, how is the re-paving/patching of these areas to be paid?
A7) The 3.66m shoulder, as shown on sheet 142, would be measured and paid for as Class 2 Class 2 Aggregate Base and Hot Mix Asphalt (Type A). The median area, outside of the shoulder would be paid for as Hot Mix Asphalt (Type A)and Place Hot Mix Asphalt (Miscellaneous Area.
Q8) What are the depths of the existing median and shoulder sections for WHY 99 at the new bridge widening?

Q9) Which drawing shows where the 167M of "Chain Link Railing (type 7)" is to be installed.

Q10) We have been told by officials with Caltrans that projects which are funded through state bonds will be postponed/shelved for a period of time (as long as 9 months). Since this project is funded by 1B bond money can we expect it to be postponed?
