Q) What material will the Bat Habitat be bolted to.

A) This is a concrete slab deck so obviously the soffit material is concrete.


Q) Will drilling and grouting or drilling with expansion bolts be required for the Bat Habitat?

A) Section 75 of the Standard Specifications, says concrete anchorage devices shall be installed in drilled holes or shall be cast-in-place inserts.


Q) What is the elevation of Soffit under bridge at Habitat location?

A) The elevation is approximately 175.57 at station 13+13.


Q) Is scaffolding required?

A) We do not specify the method of construction.


Q) What type of bolts are required?"

A) See contract plan sheet 43.


Q) How high is soffit above ground at install point?

A) It is approximately 2.57 meters.


Q) Compost application rates are too high. First application (50 m3/ha) equals approximately 26.73 metric tons per Hectare. Second application is 3 times this amount. Is this the correct application rate?

A) Bid in accordance with the contract plans and specifications. Any modification to the application rate will been done through a contract change order by the resident engineer.


Q) On page 2 of the Notice to Contractors it says cross sections are available in electronic copy format from the Dept. of Transportation District Director. What steps must we go through or who should we contact to obtain the electronic copies of the cross sections?

A) The bidders can get the design cross sections from:
