The availability or use of information provided in the responses to bidder's inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions of Section 2-1.03 of the Standard Specifications or any other provision of the contract, the plans, Standard Specifications or Special Provisions, nor to excuse the contractor from full compliance with those contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given.

Q1) Will K-Rail be required prior to the removal of the MBGR and Thrie Beam Barrier and the completion of the concrete barrier? Should there be a bid item for K-Rail and Temporary Crash Cushion Modules?

A1) MBGR, and Thrie Beam Barrier protecting existing fixed objects(bents) shall not be left exposed to live traffic during construction of this project. Should the contractor operations result in removing the MBGR and/or the Thrie Beam Barrier prior to completion of the construction, fixed objects protected by these items shall be protected by the requirement of public convenient and safety section of the standard specification and related SSP's. Cost for placement of temporary railing (Type K) and/or crash cushion shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of work and no additional compensation will be allowed therefore as separate items.


Q2) Where is the special provision for the installation of the CSP 8 pipe? How does this pipe go over the conduits?

A2) Special provisions refer you to Section 20-5 of Standard Specifications. Plan sheet No. 9 notes to use nestable pipe.


Q3) There is no payment for Special provision 10-1.19 Extend Irrigationcrossover? What item is this covered in? What are the sizes (approximate) of the existing conduits?

A3) Irrigation crossovers are paid as bid item #14. The sizes of the exisitng conduits are not available, please bid per contract bid document.
