Q) With restrictions on Lane closures, Ramp Closures, 16 locations, the aforementioned 20 working days and a Caltrans requirement to allow 7 days cure before installing pavement markers, there does not appear to be sufficient time to complete the project without incurring liquidated Damages. Will the stipulated 20 Working Days be increased prior to the end of January to allow for the plethora of restrictions on this job?

A) No.

Q) Plan sheet CS-1 of plans dated 9-7-05, “Pavement Delineation” – Detail 12, 14A – (my Caltrans detail sheets do not show a detail 14A). Does this mean Detail 11/12 combined without the “A” markers?

A) Detail 14A is found in the Standard Plans A20A under Detail 14. It is essentially Detail 12 with the one-way-clear markers substituted by red-clear markers as required by the "TYPICAL LANE LINE DELINEATION IN ADVANCE OF EXIT RAMP" detail also found in that same A20A Plan.

Q) With reference to the previous question: if not, will it have any non-reflective markers?

A) There will not be any non-reflective markers.

Q) Is there any striping on this Detail 14A?

A) Yes, Detail 14A includes striping just like Detail 12.

Q) The only bid items we have to use are: bid item No. 7, “Thermoplastic Traffic Stripe (Sprayable),” and bid item No. 8, “Pavement Marker (Retroreflective).”

A) Correct, the two items, 7 and 8, are enough.
