The responses to bidder's inquiries, unless incorporated into a formal addendem to the contract, are not a part of the contract and are provided for the bidder's convenience only. The availability or use of information provided in the responses to bidder's inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions of Section 2-1.03 of the Standard Specifications or any other provision of the contract, the plans, Standard Specifications or Special Provisions, nor to excuse the contractor from full compliance with those contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given.
Q1) Request That the " Referee Sample" noted in 10-1.32 be made available on line or with project plan details so that all bidding contractors have reasonable access to this contract requirement. Other districts have included this type information in the bid package, so it seems that District 5 should be able to do the same.

Q2) With current budget difficulties in the State of California, it appears that some uninformed entity has elected to expend and waste transportation dollars to provide the special colors and architectural finish on the Concrete Safety Barrier installed on this project. Will this waste be deleted prior to bid by an addendum, or by CCO after award?

Q3) Location 1 will require approximately 1000 cy of excavation to accomadate the 2100 tons of Asphalt shown on the plans. Will this be done as item adjustment?

Q4) The existing highway signs and drainage improvements require protection. Will this be done by K Rail and how will the work be staged to accomadte placing K rail if required.
